Fishing Charters in Harbour Town
The Harbour Town Yacht Basin, situated in The Sea Pines Resort, offers year-round private fishing charters that are led by the most experienced fishing captains on Hilton Head Island. Just 10 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean, The Harbour Town Yacht Basin's fleet, including the Izzy A, Echo, Black Skimmer and Valor will guide you to the most fertile fishing grounds in the region. Fishing charters range from three-hour inshore excursions to eight-hour offshore excursions. Bait, tackle, licenses, coolers and ice are provided, and catch will be cleaned at the docks. Available fishing charters include:
Fish for black tips, sand sharks, dogfish and stingrays on this catch-and-release shark fishing excursion. Shark fishing trips are three hours in length, stay within sight of Hilton Head Island and are great for kids. Cameras are recommended.
You'll use light action tackle to fish for sheepshead, redfish, spotted sea trout, croakers, bluefish and sharks. Inshore fishing regions include the island backwaters, coastal sounds, rivers, creeks and inlets.
During offshore fishing trips, which travel up to seven miles offshore, you'll troll or bottom fish for species, such as sheepshead, black sea bass, redfish and bluefish. The month of May is good for cobia.
Deep Sea/Blue Water Fishing
From late April through December, fish for big game in the warm Gulf Stream waters that run about 70 miles offshore. Target species include wahoo, mahi mahi, tuna and billfishes.
